Musical style

In their early independent releases and on their first two major label albums, Infest and Lovehatetragedy, the band tended to use nu metal and rap metal. Their music has often been described as hard rock, heavy metal, rap rock and post-grunge as well as alternative metal. Additionally, with their 2009 album, Metamorphosis, as the name expresses, the band feels that their music is going through a transformation to "stuff that's...harder and faster",compared to the softer sound of their last few albums.

Frontman Jacoby Shaddix said the following in an interview with the Dallas Music Guide regarding the band no longer using rapping in their music: "...the rapping's gone! I don't feel like rapping. I'm just over that...I just want to be a rocker. It's what I wanted to be when I was a kid". Shaddix has added this remark in another interview: "We’re a band that tries to walk that line between metal, hardcore, punk rock and pop music, and we do our best at trying to make it all cool".

Fencing, which is also known as modern fencing is a family of combat sports using bladed weapons. It is also known as french swordfighting or french swordfencing. It is usually practised with the help of a sword or mini-blade. Fencing is one of four sports which have been featured at every one of the modern Olympic Games. The sport of fencing is divided into three weapons:
1.      Foil;
2.      Sabre;
3.      Épée.
Fencing tournaments vary in format, and include individual and team competitions. A tournament may include all three weapons, both individual and team, or as in an Épée Challenge, individual épée only.
Men and women compete separately in high-level tournaments. Mixed-gender tournaments are commonplace at lower levels, especially those held by individual fencing clubs. An individual event consists of two parts: pools and direct eliminations.

Protective clothing
Fencing outfits are made of tough cotton or nylon. Traditionally, the fencers' uniform is white.
The complete fencing kit includes:
  •          Form-fitting jacket;
  •          Plastron, an underarm protector;
  •          One glove for the weapon arm with a gauntlet;
  •          Breeches or knickers;
  •          Knee-length or thigh high socks;
  •          Shoes;
  •          Mask, including a bib which protects the neck;
  •          Plastic chest protector, mandatory for females.
